Every Text Sets You Back

Everyone has been there, either on the receiving or sending end of the random text message that pulls you back into a situation you are trying to recover from. I know the compulsion to send the message or respond to it is strong, because you do miss them. The point of this quote isn't to convince you that you don't, but rather, to give you something to keep you from acting on that compulsion.
The hard truth of it is, if "I love you" isn't enough, then all the other texts:
The 12:00 am "I wish you were here"s,
the midday "I saw this and it reminded me of you"s, and
the "hey you"s,
those are meaningless.
If they love you, then the other texts would be unnecessary because they would be there, saying I love you too. The rest of the text messages, they are just you both clinging to something, because you are afraid of nothing. Know this you are better than "something."
Save these two quotes to your phone and when you are tempted to tell them how much you miss them, or to respond when they miss you, read and repeat it, it isn't enough, you deserve the I love you. You deserve everything, not something.
